Firesong is a semi-religious holiday that was created in honor of the goddess Elevarani. While its original purpose was to appease her in hopes of curbing her wrath, it has evolved into more of a general holiday over time.
The original form of the holiday was based around building a giant bonfire and dancing around it. The fire was to be fueled on offerings to the goddess, such as food, crafts, and even sacrifices.
In recent times, the holiday is rarely quite so barbaric. Many Atavarian cultures use the holiday as a time to meet with family and friends, enjoying a roast over a fire. In northern communities, those who practice the tradition tend to throw large social gatherings that everyone will participate in.
