The Rope Man was a merchant that occupied one of the tents on the port in Tevari Port Town. He dealt only in ropes, having only a slight obsession with them. He was a very excitable and upbeat personality, and a bit loud.
Leadbelly Fargus challenged the Rope Man to a game of tug-of-war, which the Rope Man could not resist. After losing to Leadbelly, he gave him a beautiful, metal-weaved Silver Rope. Wander taught him a joke about ropes which sent the Rope Man into hysteria. He promised to tell the joke to everyone, but almost immediately forgot the correct way to tell it.
Following the destruction of Tevari Port Town, the Rope Man's fate is unknown. Grognock and Wander searched for him among the refugees in Madrioc, but could not find him.
