Ring of Birdsight

A wondrous item.

A well crafted silver ring. It somewhat resembles a swallow with its wings curved downwards to form into the loop of the ring, as if it were hugging the finger that wore it.

Effect

When wearing the ring, the user become effectively blind. They will only be capable of seeing birds in this state, but can do so regardless of any physical barriers between them. Any space that is absent of a bird appears pitch black.

If the ring is placed on an unwilling creature that is aware of the ring's effects, regardless if they are aware the ring is being put on them or not, the creature must make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw, or suffer the effects of the ring.

History

The Peas first encountered the ring in the bandit hideout on Sordin Isle. Journey later tried the ring after its effect were divined, and later tricked Seamus into wearing the ring for a laugh. Journey sold the ring to Avelos the Learned for a paltry sum, as both believed the ring to have little worth besides the silver it was made from. Avelos hinted that he might attempt to enchant an improvement onto the ring.

"Why would you...want to see?...anything else?"
