- Caught out in the rain at night, the group looked for shelter
- Grognock approached the owner of a stable, and paid him 10 gold to allow the Peas to stay the night in his barn
- Their presence in the barn riled up a horse, which Grognock and Seamus failed to calm. The horse burst out of its pen in the middle of the night and was restrained by Tyerjon and magically put to sleep by Journey. Grognock used his woodworking skills to fix the stable door the horse broke.
- On the morning of Endelshine 5th, the group made their way up the steep hill to the border of the Hymnethas district, electing not to take a horse on the way up.
- After about an hour up the hill, Phaelnah and Wander became tired from the climb, prompting the group to rest halfway up the hill. Grognock chose to continue onwards on his own, but soon became tired himself, and the group caught up to him resting near the top of the large hill.
- Making up to the summit after a good while, the party presented their identification bracelets, receiving a warning from the Emerald Guardsman about the kidnappings and attack done by radicals in the area lately.
- The group each paid 14 gold for the traveler’s tax into Hymnethas, received a small badge for their Hylvane Identification Bracelets resembling a stalk of wheat, and continued on their way.
- The party made their way down the other side of the hill into a valley below, with the city of Hymathel visible in the distance.
- The party encountered a spot of shadow up ahead in the middle of the road, darker than the overcast shadows from the rainy clouds
- The group chose to walk through the shadow, when a familiar black sphere popped into existence and cascaded away, revealing the Nightseeker, Yyk Sen, and the Twisted Knight. The Nightseeker apologized and took her leave, as the others engaged the party in battle.
- As the battle progressed, Mardyth revealed himself, firing well-placed shots at the party.
- Tyerjon, assisted by Phaelnah’s spiritual weapon, beat back the Twisted Knight into a shielded state
- Leadbelly dispatched the strange spawn created by Yyk Sen as Wander, Yoxxel, Grognock and Journey attacked the demon herself.
- Yyk Sen made her way towards Journey, seeking her Hellheart as the group pounded her into a pulp, with Seamus, as Murica, getting the killing blow with her dagger.
- Mardyth took his leave as the defeated Yyk Sen and Twisted Knight began to sink into the shadows below them.
- Murica attempted to retrieve the two Hellhearts that surfaced from Yyk Sen’s flesh, but tried to grab both at the same time, and started to get sucked into Yyk Sen’s body.
- The party attempted to pull Murica out as Grognock went for the hearts, again failing
- Grognock went to help Murica as Tyerjon switched off and went for one of the hearts, but couldn’t get to it as it sunk under a thick, chitinous layer of flesh.
- Finally freeing Murica from the flesh and shadow, the group continued on to the city, feeling slightly unfulfilled from their lack of prize.
- The group arrived at Hymathel, showing their identification papers to the Emerald Guard at the silver gates of the white-walled city
- The group arrived during the late evening of a rainy day, so the streets weren’t filled with people, but the populace was overwhelmingly elven
- The group stopped by a market, and Yoxxel convinced Grognock to buy a bunch of bananas
- The group made their way to the Fulyne, otherwise known as the Center, and approached the Hymathel branch of the Council of Dreamers
- The group climbed one of the smaller towers of the building and met with Deowyn Centhos
- Yoxxel kicked the door down as the group entered, something that Deowyn appeared to be used to.
- After realizing the mission of the party, he excitedly ushered them inside his office, fixing the broken door with a flick of his wrist.
- Smelling and eventually seeing the bananas Grognock bought, Deowyn threw up into a basin as Yoxxel laughed her ass off
- Phaelnah de-escalated a confrontation between Grognock and Yoxxel as Deowyn composed himself
- Deowyn received the stones from the party, ending their quest and unlocking the chest
- Inside the chest was a message from Razodon calling in a favor that Deowyn owed him, telling him to pay the group 4000 gold
- Deowyn didn’t have all the gold for the payment on his person, and promised he would get in touch with members of the party after he liquidated some investments so that he could pay the full amount
- Deowyn paid the party 1400 gold up front.
- Deowyn discussed some matters with the party in regards to the Aeltran zealots and the involvement of Inglis Alexandar as well as his daughter Yuleyan Alexandar, who Yoxxel apparently has a history with.
- The party bid farewell to Deowyn and left his tower with a recommendation for a high-class inn located in the Hillwood, known as the Silver Tear.
- The party, tired from their trip, made their way up to the Silver Tear, which charged grand prices for grand quality
- Journey, Tyerjon, Leadbelly, and Phaelnah elected to treat themselves as Wander, Seamus and Grognock headed to the Pens at Seamus’ recommendation
- Journey, Tyerjon, Phaelnah and Leadbelly ate a delicious, opulent meal
- Later, Journey and Tyerjon enjoyed the grand communal bath, putting on facemasks and drinking expensive Zuvedine Phaelnah enjoyed a personal bath up in her room, and Leadbelly stewed.
- Grognock, Seamus and Wander headed to the Greencap Forest, enjoying some tasty dinners made from hallucinogenic mushrooms and getting quite high.
- Seamus later took the group to the Obliging Owl, where Grognock and Seamus (as Murica) took company for the night, and Wander refrained.
- The group at the silver tear had a wonderful breakfast in the morning, and the mushroom gang got some meat shaeval from a street vendor, bringing it back to the Silver Tear and making a crumby mess across the foyer.
- In the night previous, Phaelnah casted Sending to her daughter Ilewalyn, and a voice returned the message, instructing her to go to Deowyn’s office at the Council branch.
- As it turned out, Yoxxel is Phaelnah’s daughter
- Yoxxel was curt and distant with Phaelnah, angry at the mother she never knew
- Yoxxel/Paela/Ilewalyn confirmed that Inglis was leading the zealots in the forests, attempting to excise a devil he calls the Jackal.
- The group took the day to go shopping, hitting up various places across the Fulyne and Nevald districts
- Grognock purchased even more healer’s kits, meeting a priest of Fectovarano in the market who invited the monk to his temple to discuss spiritual matters
- Seamus went out looking for a longbow, eventually coming upon a store that offered him a discount if he hit a target across the store. Seamus (as Murica) hit it, getting the bow and 20 arrows for 30, and he gave the store owner a 6 gold bonus.
- Grognock and Phaelnah visited the Fectern Temple in the Nevald District, Grognock talking to Father Syllis and Phaelnah attempting to purchase various clerical supplies
- Father Syllis admonished Grognock for his unfaithfulness to Fectovarano, and warned him to take his visions more seriously, being visions from the Allriver himself
- Phaelnah was proselytized by the elderly cleric running the temple shop as he was concerned for her soul. Phaelnah first stated that she was an acolyte of Tarisi, but the man had her pray to Fectovarano and pledge her allegiance to him before giving her a symbol of Fectovarano worth 5 gold, as well as selling her a jeweled horn worth 100 gold and 150 gold’s worth of silver and iron powder.
- In a rare moment of solidarity, Phaelnah and Grognock left the temple, both agreeing they were “not big fans”.
- Journey and Tyerjon found an alchemy shop known as Indria’s Tinctures, where Journey bought 2 Potions of Greater Healing and 2 Potions of Healing. Tyerjon gave Indria one of her teeth for 5 gold, and bought a Potion of Fire Breath.
- Phaelnah and Grognock stopped by Waelin’s Wondrous Wares on their way back into town, with Grognock purchasing some caltrops. Waelin attempted to sell his bagpipe to Phaelnah, but she wasn’t having it.
- Seamus found that the carnival that he liked to visit in the past had been built over by newer buildings.
- The party went to Seamus’ uncle’s tavern, known as the Festering Fowl, and meeting Cormac McHammerface.
- The group booked some rooms from Cormac
- Grognock helped fix some shelves in the backroom and other things with his woodworking skill, impressing Cormac and his employee, Leira.
- Cormac offered the rooms at his tavern for free, feeding the party and exchanging stories, while Seamus was still disguised as Murica
- The group learned that in the attacks on Seamus’ village, all of Cormac’s family was killed, and he didn’t know of Seamus’ survival.
- The group drank and made merry at the tavern when a group of musicians came through and lifted the mood. Seamus, as Murica, told Cormac that Seamus was still alive, prompting Cormac to set his sights on traveling down to the Nightspell Moors to find him
- The group got significantly drunk, and Phaelnah got especially wasted
- Phaelnah, with her inhibitions lowered, began to succumb to the hunger of her blight, making her way into the stock room, eating some rotten tomatoes and leeks out of a disposal bin, and even sampling a bit of spoiled meat.
- The group eventually crashed in their rooms.
- The group booked some rooms from Cormac
- The next morning, Endelshine 7th, Seamus removed the Polymorph Amulet and met Cormac as himself, prompting a somewhat tearful reunion. Seamus told Cormac of his tax woes, and while Cormac wanted to help, there wasn’t much he could do.
- Phaelnah was very hungover the next morning, having trashed her room in a drunken state.
- Journey and Tyerjon experienced a strange series of visions of a dragon encased inside a crystal to the south, being attacked by a black dragon with green fins. They recognized this as a mating call.
- Tyerjon and Journey immediately became aware of each other’s locations, as well as the locations of multiple other individuals, some they recognized, some they didn’t
- Journey knew of two individuals not too far from her to the north, who she knew as Karcius and Valx.
- Tyerjon recognized 2 entities to the northwest that felt familiar, but were also unknown to him
- They both received vision of Zahast the Vilespawn in a rage, attacking the settlements of the south
- Meeting up, they talked briefly to Malae in Journey’s crystal, who told them of Haradumeir, a dragon she referred to as a thief.
