- After a brief discussion, the Peas engaged Journey’s brothers Karcius and Valx as well as a number of mercenaries after they attempted to take her back to Fusalis.
- The cookies given to Tyerjon, Leadbelly, Murica and Wander began to take their toll at Elwick Fasselvine’s whim, though all but Wander managed to fight off the magic poison
- Karcius attempted to use Suggestion to have Journey come with him, but a Dispel Magic from Phaelnah put her in her right mind again, and Karcius responded by grabbing her
- Tyerjon forced Karcius off of Journey, beginning the hostilities
- Wander fought through his poisoning to pull some information out of the aggressive tiefling, who mentioned that the Dracohest had invaded his home and turned its people to the worship of an ancient dragon god, Xac’huranac by the senile whims of their dying Great Sorcerer. Karcius, Valx, their brother Valdos, and an acquaintance by the name of Kairar attempted to flee the occupation after receiving a vision from Ferazir the Savage Frost, a dragon sleeping below their home. Journey was present in the vision, leading them to seek her out to return to the village.
- Tyerjon took on the brothers on his own as the others engaged the mercenaries, and Wander tried to find a place to relieve the burden of his poisoning, stumbling upon another tiefling hiding in a building that looked like a roided-up clone of Quiet
- Wander noticed that the buildings of the town were completely bare, and the walls had no windows
- The mercenary Revarta began sparring with Leadbelly using her gauntlets as the spear-mage Valera Spinstorm went for Phaelnah and the rotund Thefess Clouscester attacked Murica
- The Quiet clone (perhaps her sister Whisper) emerged from the side of the building, raging and attacking Leadbelly
- Incensed by Tyerjon’s attacks, Karcius let loose on Tyerjon but his powerful spells were mostly mitigated by Tyerjon’s dexterous feats and cold resistant scales
- Coordinating with his brother, Valx also targeted Tyerjon with his own set of strong incantations, setting up Karcius to cast even more dangerous spells
- Additionally, Elwick played a healing melody that rejuvenated the tieflings
- Valera nabbed Journey with her extending spear, attempting to tie her up, but the tiefling managed to evade capture as Phaelnah seized the mercenary with Hold Person
- Karcius, even more pissed at Tyerjon, revealed a dark orb against Valx’s objections and used it to pin Tyerjon to the ground with dark, shadowy spectral chains
- Murica distanced herself and began lobbing arrows at the mercenaries, but she soon ran out, choosing to remove her amulet and become Seamus again
- Unsure of what to do, Journey attempted to use non-violent spells against her opponents, but didn’t find much success
- After getting down after being surrounded by Revarta, Thefess and Whisper, rallying with a heal from Phaelnah, Leadbelly let loose his Sparkdust Trigger with a warning to the Peas, blinding everyone around him
- The blinded mercenaries became disoriented, wandering around the battlefield as the party moved to help Tyerjon
- Seamus ran over and took some arrows from Wander, and began screaming at nothing in particular
- Phaelnah’s attempt to dispel the magic holding Tyerjon failed, giving the cleric insight into the ancient and terrible magic the dragonborn was held by
- Wander reached around with Mage Hand as he distracted Karcius and stole his crystal focus, and finally managed to get sick all over the ground, feeling much better afterwards
- Leadbelly used Storm’s Eye Reamer to attack and port over to Karcius, manifesting two stormy portals through the Ethereal Plane
- As Karcius attempted to rush Wander and get his crystal back, Leadbelly held him in place with his sentinel stance
- Valx approach Tyerjon and put her to sleep with Shiesian Kiss
- Seamus ran up to Tyerjon, and instead of doing anything to help him, simply retrieved Voidspeaker
- Valera caught Journey again and bound her up with a transmuted chain
- Phaelnah cast Calm Emotions on Revarta, Whisper and Valera, effectively removing them from the conflict has they passed their time investigating the portal left by Leadbelly
- The party continued to hammer on Karcius, prompting him to use his orb again to chain down Leadbelly and eventually lash out against everyone with dark, space-rending tendrils
- Tyerjon dreamed about being stepped on repeatedly on a hot day
- Seamus went and hit the shit out of Valx with his Great Weapon Master, eventually prompting the tiefling to try to back away from the conflict
- Seamus eventually critted the shit out of Karcius, downing him and shouting for someone to keep him from dying
- With the conflict de-escalating, the group started to deal with the fallout
- Wander took the silver rope from the chained up Leadbelly, dispelled his grease, and began tying up Karcius
- Valx began assisting Leadbelly with the chains as Journey revived Karcius with a potion, and he began to rage
- Seamus attempted to scare him quiet, but it just enraged him more
- Wander pried the dark orb out of Karcius’ hands and handed it to Journey
- Unsure of what to do with one employer down and the other backing away from the conflict, the mercenaries stood down
- Valx freed Leadbelly as Journey helped out Tyerjon and woke him up
- Journey investigated the orb, seeing an infinite realm of undulating tendrils tearing through space itself, but not understanding much of it
- The group briefly discussed the Dracohest with Valx
- The Dracohest worship the dragon progenitor god Xac’hurana, and aspire to be as close to the dragons as possible
- Malae expressed fear and disgust towards the dark orb
- The Dracohest are digging into the mountains of Journey’s home, seemingly trying to uncover Ferazir
- The group discussed the possibility of somehow porting back to Journey’s home to quickly deal with the problems
- Valx took Karicus back to the cave they were hiding out in in one of the Lower Spires as the mercenaries took their leave
- Valx asked the group to meet up with them in the cave later
- The party made their way to the Bureau of Tourism, putting Phaelnah on the spot to communicate with the man behind the counter, who tried to sell her on tour packages for the various temples of the city
- Wander finally made a movement in the back of the building after casting Comprehend Languages
- Phaelnah saw a map, getting a general lay of the land, and finally understanding the enormous scale of Sanar
- I MADE A JOKE ABOUT LEADBELLY’S HEADBAND I CALLED IT A LEADBAND BUT NOBODY LAUGHED IT WAS REALLY FUNNY FUCK YOU
- Tyerjon noticed that many people were whispering about him with varying degrees of familiarity, and Wander heard people talking about a “right and a left” one.
- The group visited a shaeval shop, buying a bunch
- Valera warned Leadbelly about a large entity she witnessed while in the portal made by his spear
- Phaelnah hailed a random citizen, who gave her directions to a local Fectern Temple
- The group learned a bit about the reverence and stigma given to wood elves in Sanaris
- After speaking of Brother Jyle, a priest at the temple mentioned he is a high priest at a temple in the Inner Ring
- The group met Thefess at the shaeval shop, and took him up on an offer to get them into the Inner Ring of the city the next morning
- The group agreed to pay him 10 gold now, 10 on job completion
- The party found an armory, and Wander and Murica bought some beautiful, but somewhat expensive arrows
- The shopkeep refused to buy the Batraxian dagger from Wander
- Tyerjon bought a large shield in the shape of a striking dragon
- The shopkeep informed Leadbelly of the Greyspires, the crafting district of the city
- The group headed down one of the spirals to meet up with Valx and Karcius
- Journey learned that with the power of the dark orb, Valx accidentally killed their brother Valdos during their escape from the village, who was apparently reanimated with its power somehow, but changed
- The group had various dreams
