A wondrous item. It requires attunement to use.
Description
A helmet that mimics the appearance of a dragon skull, albeit somewhat smaller than the real deal. Still, it appears to have been carved out of the bones of something large. Glowing red lights burn from inside the shadows of the helmet, resembling eyes.
Effects
This item must be attuned to utilize its effects, requiring the wearer to keep it on for a period of 3 days without eating.
This item has 4 charges. Charges are used when an ability is activated, and 1d4-1 charges are restored each day at dawn.
Breathe Fear. 1 charge. As a bonus action, exhale freezing mist around you in a 10 foot radius. Creatures in the radius must make a DC 17 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature is slowed to half their movement, and takes 1d6 cold damage.
Step of the Lost. 2 charges. As a bonus action, you begin to leave a trail of ice wherever you step until the end of your next turn. Creatures that enter or start their turn on the ice must make a Dexterity saving throw of DC 10 + your Constitution modifier + Proficiency bonus or fall prone.
History
After the defeat of the Collector Knight Corvel, Tyerjon looted the helmet after it fell off. The dragonborn noticed padding on the inside of the helmet, fitted to the size of an elven head. He reckoned he could tear it out to put the helmet on.
“You’re scared. That’s a good sign.”
