Dwarves are a tough, tradition-abiding folk known for their strong martial traditions and beautiful craftsmanship. Physically, dwarves are a short race but weigh about the same as a human. They have a wide variety of skin, eye, and hair colors, from pale among shield dwarves to deeply tanned or brown amongst gold dwarves. Male dwarves grow thick facial hair, which was sometimes used to display social status, but actually both sexes naturally grew ample facial hair, though modern stigma causes some female dwarves to shave it. A dwarf is traditionally considered an adult once they have reached the age of fifty, and typically will live well into their two-hundreds. Culturally, dwarves weave tightly knit clans, based on their highly valued the ties between family members and friends.
