Beholders are powerful and intelligent, and are considered to be among the greatest threats to the natural world. They are normally found in the Underdark. Beholders are large, orb-shaped beings with ten eyestalks and one central eye, each containing powerful magic. They are genderless and appear to be made out of a rough, rocky substance, as strong and durable as steel, and just as inflexible. Upon death, their skin would harden further into a stone-like consistency.
