High-security prison and sentencing hall
The Verdict serves as both detention center and final court. Most prisoners here have already been tried—this is where sentences are carried out. Every prisoner cell is engraved with a rune indicating the crime committed and a sandglass symbol counting down to release… or execution.
The prison is notorious for its silent halls—no shouting, no clanging bars. Magic is dampened by runes etched deep into the foundation stones. Guards, known as Black robed Vectors, are rarely seen outside but are rumoured to be former arbiters and inquisitors.
- The Echo Chamber: A circular room where prisoners must speak their final testimony aloud—regardless of guilt or innocence. It is said the walls remember every voice.
- The Iron Stair: A central, winding stair that descends deeper with each level of offense. The lowest levels are for traitors, killers, and forbidden mages.
- The Oathburn Wall: Used for branding or binding convicts under magical contract. Oaths broken post-release result in the mark igniting.
- The Duskgate: A rarely used rear exit rumoured to lead to a condemned wing for political prisoners and exiled nobles.
