Previous Episode: Voyage of the Cursed Dawn - S02 E11
The session began immediately inside the cave leading toward Baldor. Not long after entering, the party encountered a massive Asteroid Spider lurking within the tunnels. During the battle, Rasa Arziki used the powers of his magical trident, combining water and lightning, to repeatedly shock the creature until it was finally defeated. After the fight, Cain Vaelen discovered a necklace containing a mysterious amulet among the remains. As the party ventured deeper, they noticed strange blue veins running through the cavern walls, pulsing with flowing light like living energy. Further into the tunnels, the group was attacked by two Otyughs, grotesque creatures hiding within the underground darkness. After another difficult battle, the party emerged victorious once more. Eventually they reached the heart of the cavern system: a massive chamber containing a deep pit that functioned as a teleportation portal leading directly to Baldor deep underground. However, they were not alone.
Two strange individuals dressed in unusual white coats, unlike anything the players had seen before, were operating a complex machine near the portal. They introduced themselves as Dr. Cos and Dr. Seleen, claiming to be scientists from the future. According to them, they were harvesting energy from the portal for use in their own timeline. The machine required a rare component to activate. Conveniently, Rasa still possessed the tail of a Blink Dog, which he traded to the doctors in exchange for a guide explaining how the machine worked. With the machine activated, the two scientists returned to their own timeline. The party then jumped through the portal themselves and finally arrived in Baldor, the underground city. Remembering their arrangement with the Delverkin caravan, the group headed to Cuckoo Bananas, where they were supposed to reunite. Inside the tavern, the bartender informed Red Flint that a package had arrived for him. Inside the package was:
- A certificate / bill of sale
- Proof of ownership in Cuckoo Bananas
- Worth an astonishing 2425 gold pieces
The players suspect this investment was made during their missing drunken days under the effects of Vreugdedrank. Session ends.
