To the south of Midrasil lies Blodania, a land of burning skies, forgotten cities, and veiled truths. Blodania's culture runs deep, older than borders and perhaps older than kings. Its people are shaped by heat and dust, their beliefs bound to ritual, silence, and a reverence for what others might call shadows. They live by memory, tradition, and the quiet conviction that the past should never be forgotten or forgiven.
Blodania is currently at war with the desert empire of Zhireen. Though they ask for no soldiers, they demand loyalty. Midrasil’s occasional trade with Zhireen has caused no shortage of tension. Blodani envoys speak softly in court, but their message is clear: choose your allies wisely. They expect Midrasil to lean toward their cause, especially with Zhireen expanding sea trade and pressing their claim on the disputed island of Quillba.
Blodania has long expressed interest in the southern deserts ruled by House Ashwynd. They speak of that land with eerie reverence, as if it once belonged to them or perhaps still does. They offer generous trade deals that House Ashwynd continues to refuse. Many suspect they are after more than land — perhaps seeking relics or long-buried power.
Blodania is ruled by the Order of the Shroud, a council of scholars, diviners, and memory keepers who interpret the will of the ancestors. Their symbolic ruler, known only as the High Voice, rarely appears in public. Authority is not earned through wealth or birth, but through mastery of history and sacred tradition. Blodanians believe that knowledge is the strongest form of power, and that truth — when kept and wielded correctly — can shape kingdoms.
They see Midrasil as a realm with too many open doors. And they would very much like to be the only one holding the key.
