House Ashwynd straddles two worlds: the ancient green groves of the north and the unforgiving deserts of the south. Descended from nomadic peoples long scorned by the nobility, they are proud, powerful, and ever watchful for weakness among their rivals.

The people of Ashwynd are deeply spiritual, placing their faith in the divine power of their sacred grove. According to their belief, the highly regulated sap of Ashwynd’s ancient trees grants visions from their god, The Oldfather — a guiding spirit said to speak through dreams and ritual intoxication.

At the southern border, the fortress of Jord stands sentinel, facing Fort Argo of the neighbouring nation Blodania. Before Ashwynd was brought into the fold of Midrasilian three generations ago, they fought Blodania for almost a century. Though the kingdom now enjoys an uneasy peace, hatred for their old enemy still burns in Ashwynd blood.
