One of the oldest noble bloodlines in all of Midrasil, House Blackmore claims descent from the first Highland settlers to lay claim to the shores of continent. From their ancestral seat at Blackfort, they once ruled the entire western coast as a mighty seafaring kingdom. But three centuries ago, their vast domain fractured — splitting into the separate houses of Blackmore, House Briarthorne, and House Thornevale.
Now, House Blackmore is but a shadow of its former glory.
Yet their legacy endures. The dark and towering shadow trees of the Shadow Forest are found nowhere else in the realm. Stronger than ironwood and near impervious to rot, this timber fuels Blackmore’s shipyards and finances. With piracy from the Highland Tribes threatening the western coast, Blackmore has become a naval power out of necessity — its black-hulled fleets patrolling the waves, forged from the very woods their ancestors once ruled.
