Daoine is a merchant republic city-state located off the coast of Yekare. It is a major trade port and population center. Daoine is a city which thrives on trade and seafaring. Through centuries of deft political and diplomatic maneuvering, as well as the power of its formidable navy, the republic has gained a monopoly on trade between the nations of northeastern Yekare and Kendramar, making them absurdly rich. So central is trade to the Daoini that the republic's wealthy nobles are often informally referred to as "trade lords."
