The Celestial Language, sometimes called the Old Tongue (not to be confused with Mannic), is the language of the Gods. It is a powerful language that has magic imbued into its very words. Most spells are cast through the uttering of Celestial. During the First Age, it was also the language of all Beldkind. Following the Second Age, it ceased to be the universal language however it remains as a liturgical language for the various sects of the Worship of the Pantheon and a large portion of the global population has at least basic understanding of Celestial.
In Celestial, the language is called “Khobat” (ልሆባት)which is a combination of the words “Gods” and “Mouth”.
