III 96 (34), Ibb, Ya'ardamat

Y'shar, often called the Hand of God, was a partially Human semi-divine prophet, mystic, miracle-worker, and teacher who lived in the early years of the Third Age. In III 96, at the age of 34, Y'shar was arrested on the orders of Morban the Terrible and publicly tortured and executed for disturbing the peace.

During the War in HeavenTovun had severed Beld's hand, causing it to fall to the earth. After landing on the earth, the land turned into an infant child. The baby was found by muram and yoshef in the sixty-second year of the Third Age, likely in or near the city of Ib-Manthosh. They named him Y'shar and adopted him as their own.

Through his divine soul, Y'shar was blessed with powers of miracles and prophetic dreams. Like Beld, Y'shar was a gentle, kindhearted, and altruistic man. He traveled the world (according to his faithful by literally walking across the oceans) to spread goodwill and help to all he could find.

Returning to Ibb, Y'shar ran afoul of Morban the Terrible and was arrested and executed. Upon his execution, he was taken to the soulbox, a prison of Morban's design created to entrap the souls of those executed in eternal torment. The torment was so tortorous that it was common knowledge that to free the entrapped souls would be to unleash their madness and agony upon the entire world, leading to apocalypse. Beld, though still recovering on El-Asil from wounds received in the War in Heaven, flew into a deep rage upon feeling the death of Y'shar. Appearing in corporeal form for the first time in decades, Beld destroyed the soulbox in His despair and grief. However, instead of apocalypse, the souls passed peacefully to the Halls of Karad-Dun, for Y'shar had calmed them while inside. Beld took Y'shar's soul with Him as he left, offering him to merge with his and return to oneness with Beld, or to pass into the Halls of Karad-Dun and enjoy the afterlife. It is unknown what Y'shar chose.

Y’shar’s tomb in Ya’ardamat is a major holy site of pilgrimage for the Order of Beld.
