Beldo-Jonis V was the final Sea Lord of the Kardunashi Sea Empire. By the time he took the throne, the realm was already undergoing a period of decline and the authority of the Sea Lord had greatly waned. Beldo-Jonis V was a good ruler, but was largely a figurehead of his Council, devoting most of his time to leading military campaigns against uprisings in the Yekari colonies. He and his children and heirs died in an army mutiny in IV 1803. When informed of the slaughter, the Sea Lord's family on the mainland was subsequently slaughtered, eliminating the entire Imperial Family in one night. The Empire being left without heirs initiated a period of civil war which culminated in the creation of the Kardunashi Republic.
