House Kaligar of Modrova is a noble house which rules over the sparsely populated region of Kaligaland from the town of Modrova. Unlike most noble houses of Pelegon, the Kaligars were selected by a grand council of the tribes of the Kaliga people to be their lords following the conquest of Kaligaland by Pelegon.
Originally, the Kaligars were the family which led the Gulyar Clan, a powerful tribe in Kaligaland. Upon their election as Lords and High Chiefs of Kaligaland, they change their family name to Kaligar to denote their status as lords of all the Kaliga peoples.
The sole title of the Kaligars is "Ata-il," an ancient Kaliga title meaning "Parent of the Country," denoting leadership of all the Kaliga.
