It is a realm of great magics and immense splendor. Far and wide, the God-touched Shahanshah's presence is felt.
- Writings of Ava Trasalor, Elvish historian and philosopher
Pelegon, officially the Pelegonic Empire, and often called the Imperium, is a feudal empire which controls major territories in western Yekare. Though it controls vast territory, the Empire is incredibly decentralized, with the Emperor only directly holding the capital city of Arcanopolis and its surroundings, a region called the Imperial Domain.
The Imperium is a gargantuan realm divided into ten provinces or kingdoms, each ruled by a monarch of one of the Houses Major. The provinces are:
- The Imperial Domain, the seat of Imperial power, ruled by House Pelegon, the House Imperial
- The Kingdom of the Arcazon, ruled by House Adrastos of Archoria
- The Kingdom of Byuntun, ruled by House Kazimir of the Sunfort
- The Kingdom of Dasurkat, ruled by the House of Davshad of the Great Pyramid of Nemish
- The Kingdom of the Gulf, ruled by House Agenos of the Crab Isle
- The Kingdom of Mernel, ruled by House Khainohk of the Deep Hearth
- The Kingdom of the Motherlands, ruled by House Orthed of Deadhill
- The Kingdom of Neria, ruled by House Scelza of Kaveza
- The Kingdom of Siaat, ruled by House Jorath of the Krenn
- The Kingdom of the Y'kanos, ruled by House Pineblood of the Unicorn's Grove
Most of the realms, like the Y'kanos and Neria, existed before the Pelegonic Conquest and were incorporated into the empire. Others, like the Arcazon, were created after the conquest, a combination of multiple petty realms.
Names
The Pelegonic Empire goes by many names. Its official name, Pelegonic Empire, derives from its ruling dynasty: House Pelegon, which is in turned derived from its founder and the Empire's founder and first ruler: Pelegon I. Amongst the people of the Empire, the realm is frequently called the Imperium or the Empire, as well as variations of Falcon Imperium, Pelegonic Imperium, Falcon Empire, and so forth.
