Arcanopolis, also called the Holy City and the City of the Prophet, is the capital city of Pelegon. It is one of the largest cities in the world, and is a major hub of trade, commerce, philosophy, and politics. It is also where the Emperor's reign is strongest, as he holds direct rule over the city and its surroundings. Its vast wealth, grandiose architecture, and political significance has earned it the epithet, the Jewel of the South. The city was built on the north bank of Lake Arcanos, which is where it gained its name.
History
In millennia past, many small towns dotted the lakeside. However, following the Pelegonic Conquest, Shahanshah Pelegon I ordered most of the towns on the lakeside emptied and their people were forcibly resettled to a new city on the north shore, Arcanopolis.
