Silence, oftentimes called the Black Blade, is the ancestral greatsword of House Ugaros. It is made of Yohm-kar. Like all Yohm-kar steel swords, it is incredibly sharp, has never lost its edge, and is considered priceless.
Witch King Vizeroth IX found the blade during one of his many expeditions into the Silent Necropolis. Though he would eventually disappear in the ancient ruins, the sword remains as an heirloom of House Ugaros.
While other Yohm-kar blades glow and add light to a room, Silence seems to do the opposite, glowing with an almost black radiance or "anti-light."

Appearance
Both the steel and the characteristic ripples of the blade are incredibly dark grey in color, appearing almost to be black. However, upon close inspection, the ripples may be seen. The hilt and scabbard are both made of dragonbone, and a large spherical ruby is inserted into the hilt. The pommel is obsidian, though at the place where it meets the hilt it is substituted with citrine. Runes in an unknwon language are carved into the blade, and according to rumor they glowed red during the time of the Witch Kings.
