Starstuff, also called Essence of Starlight, Starlight Crystals, and Starstone, is a highly magical, sacred, and beautiful type of gemstone comprised of the very essence of the stars themselves. Starstuff is only deposited when a star falls.
Starstuff is a pale milky-white crystalline substance. It faintly glows a pale white color. Starstuff can be made into various items, though it makes exceptionally poor material for weaponry unless one knows the magics and spells required to create Yohm-kar, a magical material primarily made of Starstuff which is stronger and lighter than steel. Though it is strong, it also shatters easily. Starstuff is most often made into jewelry, prayer focuses, and arcane focuses.
Starstuff is incredibly potent in latent magic, and therefore makes an excellent arcane focus.
Members of the Faith of Sirda pray with prayer beads of starstuff, and it is common for many adherents to other faiths to have at least one starstuff prayer bead if possible, though the rarity and value of starstuff makes this difficult to achieve.
The coast of Fangardh is considered one of the wonders of the world, as where normal beaches have sand, its coast is made of starstuff itself, a blessing granted by Sirda.
