A meeting presided over by a reeve (a manorial tenant) at which all aspects of village life and bylaws are debated. Also used for court sessions of other authorities, such as a manor lord’s hallmoot, a hundred moot held by a bailiff of the hundred, or a sheriff ’s shiremoot.
