Encounter Location for Find the Killers.
There have been a few murders around Burzyn recently and the King's men are about to launch a door to door search for suspicious actors. This makes the party's contact here, Dalon Ashawe the Embalmer, rather nervous, since he is the local Lia Kavair Guildmaster and keeps a couple of safe houses. Dalon engages the party to find the killer(s) and deal with them before the King's Guard starts their searches. As it happens, the killers are the same ones who killed Malek the mage, whose body the party found during the "Swamp Hunters" encounter. That group of killers are led by Lankhar Dhomar. The others in the group are the rogue Omset, the warrior Edren, and the asassin Fadra.
Lankhar and Omset recently killed a couple of merchants for their coin. The first was a travelling merchant, so no oner really noticed he was missing - in fact a few were relieved that the competition went away. The last one, however, was a well-loved former villein named Jonah. Jonah was given rights to sell his produce from the land his lord owns. He sold a season's worth of produce to the Genin Gate Tavern for an upcoming feast. Jonah's wife, Elyna, was also well-loved, a quiet industrious woman who excelled in tatting extraordinary sleeve and collar ruffs. They then found and took over Jonah's house and killed Elyna. They buried Elyna in a shallow grave behind the outhouse to the south, and have hidden their treasure in the fireplace under a pile of ashes and rabbit bones.
