- The party sold some leather armor and bought studded leather armor, bought a couple more Potions of Healing, and rations.
- The party left Cherafir on foot. They heard a carriage and took a few moments before looking at it. The party moved out of the way, and Rook took a good look at the carriage as it passed. He saw that the occupant was dressed richly in black with gold trim.
- The party had no issues getting to Efsuz.
- As the party approached the Efsuz Inn and Tavern they were greeted by a jovial Human male, probably mid-30s, who declared "Sorry, folks, the Inn is all booked up. It is reserved for the night. There are good rooms just down the road in Hosuz, about 30 minute walk, at the Spinning Leaf." Someone grumbled, I think it was Hjalgrimm, and someone said "There ought to be a couple of rooms" (or something like that). The doorman said "Nope, sorry, the whole place is booked for the night." Then Ambra decide to ... persuade ... the fellow (she rolled really high, he rolled really low, as in 1). Overcome, he muttered "Er, um, let me see what I can do" and went into the Inn, closing the door behind him.
- A few moments later, he emerged from the door, looking visibly shaken. He said "Sorry, no really, there are no rooms here. You should go on down to Hosuz. The Spinning Leaf has rooms."
- Behind him, through the open door, a couple of you could see two men dressed in fine black clothes with gold trim, wearing rapiers, standing behind the stammering doorman.
- Hjalgrimm put his hand on the hilt of his greatsword (I would argue that unless he lays it down, he ALWAYS has his hand on the hilt of his greatsword - it is the only way to carry it). Thalgar put his hands on his axe handles. The two men in black in the Inn put their hands on the hilts of their rapiers.
- There was the sound of spaghetti western whistling while everyone stared each other down.
- Hjalgrimm tried to discern whether all of the players were sincere. He decided that the previously jovial doorman had had his wits scared out of him, and that the two men in the Inn were calm, earnest, and honest.
- Rook strained to see inside the Inn but could only see a serving woman and a barmaid, the rest of the inside was blocked from view. There was a face in one of the windows, looking out.
- Hjalgrimm said something like "there doesn't need to be any bloodshed here tonight..."
- It was at that point that Hjalgrimm suggested moving on.
- Eventually you all decided to amble on to Hosuz, where you found a warm welcome and drank a VERY expensive bottle of Khuzdul barrel-aged stout ale, ate well, and paid for lodging and breakfast.
- Thalgar snuck into the kitchen and put his spices Into the party’s food, adding reaper peppers for Hjalgrimm‘s potion.
