Faerun 1493 DR, 200 years ago the people of Waterdeep saw a flash of light in the sky. That flash turned into a blink, then into a steady beacon of light. Moments later the outskirts of the city were flooded with beings, extraterrestrial in nature. 

Refugees from a ravaged world descended upon this world, claiming their home was lost to a being of unimaginable power. They promised in return for their safety they’d bestow upon the people the secrets of the stars, and with that, the Astral Alliance research agreement was made. 

This age of high magic has allowed many new friends and foes to nest in Faerun, as well as flourish new methods of combat and education. In light of all of these events, an adventuring guild has declared themselves the forerunners of protection in Waterdeep.
