Gerrold Veynar

High Priest

The head priest of Tempus is High Warden Gerrold Veynar, a grizzled human male in his early sixties whose life has been shaped by war and discipline. Once a decorated soldier, Gerrold took his vows as a paladin in the aftermath of tragedy, swearing to dedicate his remaining years to the service of Tempus and the defense of Lygos. His body still bears the marks of countless battles, and though age has slowed his stride, his presence commands respect wherever he walks.

Gerrold keeps his white hair cropped close to the scalp, his armor polished, and his crimson cloak always neat. He carries himself with the precision of a career soldier, his every gesture deliberate. Gruff and uncompromising, he lives by a strict moral code: protect the innocent, stand against evil, and never waver in the face of fear. He is known across the city as someone you can turn to in times of peril, and when danger threatens, he is often seen at the front lines alongside his clerics, sword in hand.

Yet beneath the hardened exterior lies a side few ever witness. Twice a year, on the holiest feast days of Tempus, Gerrold takes up his viol, filling the temple’s stone halls with hauntingly beautiful music. In these rare moments, his followers glimpse a gentler soul, a man who has known loss and still clings to beauty as fiercely as he does to duty. For the devout, this act is as inspiring as any sermon, a reminder that even the hardest warrior can carry tenderness in his heart.

To Lygos, Gerrold Veynar is more than a priest—he is a guardian, a living bulwark who embodies the god he serves. His faith and discipline have become part of the city’s backbone, and his voice, whether barking orders on the field or guiding prayers in the temple, carries with it the weight of unshakable conviction.
