  • Activities: Smuggling magical components, grave robbing, targeted assassinations of those who might interfere.

  • Goal: Secure the remains of Infernis, conduct the Resurrection Rite, and bind the beast as an immortal dracolich.

Reputation

  • Among Locals: Most don’t know he exists—rumors of “snake priests” are dismissed as superstition.

  • Among Criminals: Feared as the hidden hand that makes rivals vanish without a trace.

  • Among Scholars: Some know the name Xelthos and treat it with dread—he is linked to cult disasters across Faerûn.

Adventure Hooks

  1. The Bone Shipment – A crate of massive, ancient bones vanishes from the docks. The theft points to the Cult of the Dragon.

  2. The Crimson Tides – Dead sea life begins washing ashore, reanimated with necrotic energy. It’s a side effect of Xelthos’s underwater rites.

  3. The Masked Sermon – Xelthos secretly addresses a hidden congregation in Lygos. Infiltrating it could reveal the cult’s next move—or end in a trap.
