Tamu, Ancient Yakfolk Druid

Large humanoid (yakfolk), neutral good

Tamu stands nearly eight feet tall, with long, sweeping horns adorned with woven charms, feathers, and metal beads that clink softly when he moves. His fur is thick and white with age, threaded with gray along the back and forearms. His eyes are dark and gentle, but carry the depth of centuries—quiet, steady, and patient in a way that makes even seasoned adventurers lower their voices around him.

He walks with a tall shepherd’s staff of polished blackwood capped with a carved moonstone. When he speaks, his voice is calm and resonant, like snow falling on distant mountains.

Though Tamu is powerful, he abhors violence. He will fight only to protect others, nature, or sacred balance—preferring diplomacy, ritual, and measured wisdom.

He carries the honored title “Keeper of the High Wind Circles,” one of the spiritual leaders of his people. His presence in Lygos is unprecedented.

🌒 TRAITS

Ancient Calm.

Tamu has advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed. Creatures that attempt to intimidate him automatically have disadvantage.

Spirit-Touched Wild Shape. (2/day)

Tamu can use Wild Shape, but instead of assuming beast forms, he may also assume unique spirit-infused avatars, including:

  • Wind Elk — fast, leaping form granting 60 ft. speed

  • Stone-Bound Yak — reduces all nonmagical damage by half

  • Glacial Owl — silent flying form, darkvision 120 ft.

(Use CR 1–3 beast templates with thematic tweaks.)

Mountain Hearth Aura.

Allies within 10 feet of Tamu gain resistance to cold damage and advantage on saving throws against exhaustion caused by harsh environments.

Yakfolk Magic.

As part of their culture, yakfolk druids store spells in small carved tokens. Once per day, Tamu can cast any prepared spell without expending a spell slot by crushing one such token.
