Captain Rhogar Stoneblood, Vanguard of Lygos
Rhogar Stoneblood is a Goliath captain whose presence alone signals that a battle is about to turn brutal. Towering even among his own kind, he bears granite-gray skin etched head to toe with bright red tattoos—angular sigils and tally-marks commemorating campaigns, fallen comrades, and victories that only he fully remembers. His eyes are mismatched, one a cold slate blue, the other a burning amber, lending him an unsettling, unforgettable gaze.
Rhogar commands the Lygos Vanguard, the city’s elite heavy shock troops. They are always first into the breach and last to fall back. Under his command, the Vanguard advances with disciplined aggression, bristling with spears, glaives, and polearms, breaking enemy lines before the foe can fully react. Once the fighting collapses into close quarters, Rhogar bellows the order and the formation shifts—long weapons discarded for hand axes, maces, and short swords, turning the charge into a grinding, relentless push.
What truly sets Rhogar apart is his mind. He claims—and those who have fought beside him believe—that he remembers every battle he has ever fought. He can recall the sound of shields breaking, the timing of an enemy’s feint, the moment a line wavered. He uses those memories to train his soldiers mercilessly, drilling them against mistakes he refuses to allow a second time.
Off the field, Rhogar is a study in excess. When not on duty or overseeing brutal training sessions, he can be found in Lygos’s rougher taverns, drinking heavily, laughing loudly, and reveling in the company of admirers drawn to his confidence and legend. He lives hard, sleeps little, and wears his reputation as proudly as his tattoos.
To the city, Captain Stoneblood is both a hero and a warning. When the Vanguard marches under his command, Lygos knows the fight will be short, violent, and unforgettable—for Rhogar will remember it forever.
