Gus Maneision was Abreau Maneision's uncle. He passed in 1495 DR from unknown circumstances. That same week, a letter was sent to Abreau informing him of his uncle's passing and that he was to inherit some of his fortune as well as a cabin in the Neverwinter Wood if he was to succeed into staying five nights in a row inside the cabin. Abreau was to meet with a man appointed by his uncle to tell him the rules and give him an item to watch over him to make sure Abreau wouldn't lie about spending five nights in the cabin.
