This text is written in smooth script in Alzhedo. It appears to be a collection of notes written by the lich Uthmaa, with specific emphasis regarding the so-called "Ritual of Return." A key passage reads as follows:
The histories by Tethoril and Urkitbaeran provide some insight as to the events surrounding the great lords of the former Djen Empire and Memnonar of the distant past. It is commonly known that both were sealed by powerful Elven High Magic in the Calimmenon Crystal. So both were sealed for millenia, ever struggling for release and against the other, without progress or end. It was only with the Spellplague that the powerful working was disrupted, the crystal shattered, and with it, both great genie lords were free to seek dominion over the land once more.
Our lord Calim had much rewarded the Desert Rose for her patience and devotion. If the Desert Rose is to be believed, the Caliph of the Djen is nothing less than the Lady of the Winds made manifest on Toril. It was to my lady's undying grief when our lord disappeared once more. We know not how the Caliph of the Djen disappeared nor why he has not returned to the land.
It is to this extent then the Desert Rose has bade me to make use of the portion of the Ritual of Return that we have only recently recovered. I have continued in my study of it for some time, and I believe it is possible to enact a dweomer by which to return the Caliph of the Djen back to this world. However, my research indicates that one portion of the Ritual of Return is insufficient to complete the working. It is perhaps possible to hypothesize the remainder of the Ritual based off of what knowledge we have gleaned from the portion we have uncovered, but attempting to act upon that basis could well have disastrous consequences. I shall advise the Desert Rose henceforth to redouble efforts to acquire the remaining portions of the Ritual of Return, if our gambit to return the rightful lord of this land is to be successful.
