After traversing through the cosmic might of the World Tree, the party found themselves in the realm of the House of the Triad, a divine and blessed place. As they looked around at the enormous palaces and clouds of gold, they saw a figure quickly approaching. The creature bore wings of pure light, an aura of gold and silver radiating from its very center. Its eyes shone with divine power, and it stood with imposing might above the party. They realized that this was no ordinary celestial. This was the figure of their dreams. Not a deva, nor a planetar, nor even a mighty empyrean. This was a Solar, one of the most powerful celestial beings in all of existence. The Solar introduced itself as Viryn, servant of Tyr, Lord of Justice. He explained that Tyr had tasked him with ensuring that the natural mechanisms of justice remained turning in the cosmos. For most, the balance of consequence to actions proved enough, as the wheels of mortal and immortal justice could remain in motion. However, while light and dark have been kept in an eternal battle for nearly all of known existence, the forces of darkness are often kept in check. He informed the party that a concerning development came to the attention of his forces. The Cult of Atropus, a group devoted to the World Born Dead, a Primordial being that fought with the gods during the Dawn War, has been seeking a way to disrupt many of these naturally occurring mechanisms, including the passage of time. They have been seeking dark and terrible knowledge that would allow them to destroy the tools of the forces of good, and even the forces of balance. He explained that long ago, a number of mortals, with divine guidance, created an organization of secrecy and legend, designed with one goal: preserve the Temporal Prime, protect the timeline, and ensure that others cannot use magic to change history in their favor. To ensure that what must happen does happen, and what should never happen does not happen. The organization became to be known as The Order and held many secret strongholds across the realms and planes. One such stronghold was believed to have been under siege by the Cult of Atropus, and the party was to intervene, protecting the knowledge within, and ensuring that the wardings did not fall completely. With this information, Viryn asked to speak with Sonia after they returned, in a private audience regarding her fiendish pact. The party then travelled through a dimensional portal to the realm of the Temple of Potentiality, a demiplane devoted to The Order’s agents and their ability to replenish resources while on long journeys. After travelling into the temple, they ventured into the archives, locating a series of strange and malicious relics, as well as stolen and destroyed scrolls and tomes. They learned that The Order had been keeping track of both the Cult of Atropus and the Red Wizards of Thay, for their attempts to manipulate the primary timeline. The Cultists had stolen several texts that dealt with temporal manipulation, as well as legends related to a rare and powerful tome, known as the Book of Vile Darkness. Within the sealed storage room, a number of relics were recovered by the party, including the broom of the Vampiric Archmage, Shyressa of the Twisted Rune, a device designed for correcting paradoxes, and a ring that once belonged to the Planeswalking Paladin, Alcarain Gailtine, a servant of The Order. After careful planning and timing by Kingswell, the party was notified as to the presence of dread creatures within the temple. They travelled into a temporal ritual room, and managed to dispatch with the three horrid, cloaked figures that loomed within. They bore no faces, and wielded wicked looking black blades. After collecting the necessary tomes and relics, and restoring some of the wardings, the party found a manual of tenets of The Order, which they each read aloud. Several members of the party also injected themselves with Paradox Prevention Serum, which has now worn off. They then travelled back to the House of the Triad, and ventured through the Astral Sea, until they arrived home.
