To the east of Hawthorne, the Hawthorne Roses the Hawthorne Roses (previously the Azure Rose, then Lerwick Roses) has set up its camp in military fashion. They regularly send out patrols to guard the surroundings of Hawthorne, and occasionally send out expeditions further away as well.
The Hawthorne Roses is a semi-militaristic order dedicated to protecting the city of Hawthorne from outside forces that would mean the city harm, especially from undead. The organization is strong, diligent, and fearless. Fighters, Rangers, Rogues, and Clerics of any Good or Neutral (often Lawful) alignments are most commonly drawn to the Hawthorne Roses.
Goals
Let no danger enter the town.
Protect the townsfolk and Adventurers when outside the gates within their reach.
Keep the fey forest closely watched and patrolled.
Beliefs
Never leave a Rose member behind, we protect our own.
The town is paramount, keep it safe, even at the cost of our lives.
Never let undead live within our presence.
Member Traits
The members of the Hawthorne Roses tend to be the rough and tumble type, military folk seem most comfortable within the camp. The camp has a rather... dysfunctional family vibe from it, with everyone looking out for one another fiercely even if they don't necessarily like one another. The Roses move from patrol to patrol on a rotating schedule with each patrol having roughly no similar members of the last, doing so to help cliques not form, you work with your fellow Roses, no matter who you are.
Hierarchy
The Hawthorne Roses has a very military structure. The faction has five main ranks, each named after the parts of a rose: Stem (recruits), Thorn (trainees), Petal (staff), Bloom (senior staff) and Rose (leadership). Each of these ranks are divided into four ‘colours’ (Viridian, Vermillion, Alabaster and Azure) with the exception of Rose, which has three (Vermillion, Alabaster and Azure).
