In 1493 DR, when Lerwick was attacked by the Wild Hunt. "Archaeology" MOAB was used as part of defenses to protect the Eastern Gate of Lerwick.
The Mother of All Bombs (M.O.A.B.), named “Archaeology” was summoned forth. Fredrick Lumin would gate the bomb, and a small Goblin tied to it, to the top of the clockwork eastern temple. ”Archaeology” was designed by Gobby, Arx, Venei, Krin, Cedric, and Moyra - an insane group of apothecaries, alchemists, smiths and tinkerers, in order to end the battle in a single blow, was swiftly made invisible upon the temple. Fredrick began to rain fire from his hands, attempting to distract the ship so that the MOAB could be delivered provided an excellent cover, as attacks began to divert towards him. Felgolos and rider, Ephemer, now invisible with the payload of MOAB and Arx, would deliver the bomb onto the deck of the Command Ship. However, stealth has a price. Without a forceful impact, the bomb could not detonate. The very method used to deliver it successfully, would force someone to stay behind to ensure detonation.
Arx, sledgehammer in hand, would send his final words to Irisen, and his team. As he detonated the bomb, himself strapped to it. The bomb exploded, but it did not end the war as the Sappers would have hoped. While it forced the Capital Ship to begin it’s retreat, it did little more than cripple the boat. But with that retreating Capital ship, the Eastern face found reprieve for the first time.
