The Iron District was once known by a different name: Tent City. Back when the Guild was first founded there were practically no options for housing available, and so everyone who had not built a house to live in was forced to set up a tent and live in that until better housing was available. And for the adventurers of Lerwick that took quite a while. The first housing district that was built was the Copper District, and for a long time after the Tent City continued to grow. Finally, some time after the fall of Tyrant’s Keep, Tent City was renovated and replaced by permanent apartments. When the project was finished, the new district was named The Iron District. The houses are mostly designed to house multiple families, though some houses are built for slightly better off single families.[1]
In 1494 DR, the Iron District was destroyed following the near-apocalypse cause by Bohu, the Entity Divided.
