The Magical Association of Generally Impressive Casters (M.A.G.I.C.) was founded in Lerwick with the purpose of helping protect Lerwick from outside threats. It is currently owned by a great wizard named Sylgretor Doldastar. To achieve their goal, its members collect and exchange knowledge of lore and spells to make them more capable in meeting that objective. To help each other, however, they know they cannot turn to blades or prayer alone to fix their problems; instead, they must manipulate and master the Weave itself to resolve their conflicts.
In 1493 DR, the Wild Hunt attacked the town of Lerwick, leaving their headquarters almost destroyed.
In 1494 DR, the town of Lerwick was destroyed, and so was the Headquarters of M.A.G.I.C., but it was rebuilt on the Hawthorne Campus.
Members of the guild who wish to join M.A.G.I.C. must demonstrate their ability in the arcane arts by casting arcane spells, and they must promise to use those powers to aid and protect Hawthorne and its citizens.
