The Children of Mercy Hospital is located in the University District. Above the door inlaid in the wood is a large red cross surrounded by a circle of white, the symbol of the Hospitallers, hung there as a memento of their assistance in building the hospital of Lerwick in 1492.In 1494, the Lerwick Hospital was destroyed, and the Children of Mercy Hospital was rebuilt in Hawthorne, the new town serving as headquarters for the Hawthorne Guild.
In the emergency room, health practitioners can be seen talking to patients, rushing to their assignments, and occasionally bringing in someone in dire shape. Patients or visitors are greeted by the secretary sitting behind a desk. The secretary is also in charge of writing health record for patients. She's wearing white leather armor and a white tabard with a red cross. Behind her is what appears to be a waiting room for those who are visiting or require minor care. Stationed around the main floor are four members of the faction who serve as security and who are occasionally called upon to assist the other staff, and remove anyone who causes trouble. The hospital is currently under the aegis of Chrystelle Lockhart, though all are welcome inside.
The Hospitallers were an organization who came to Lerwick to help and built the hospital there. Being a nomadic group striving to help newfound community, they left once Lerwick had grown. Afterwards, the Children of Mercy faction became in charge of running the hospital. The hospital is very clean and well organized.
On the day Ayela, a member of the Hospitallers, left the Hospital, she gave to Chrystelle some instructions and information. The Hospitallers had always been wandering nomads that went out to help new settlements and communities in need to assist them, build infrastructures and train people in order to be able to take care of their own people. Lerwick having grown so much now and their mission being a complete success, it was time for the Hospitallers to leave so they could assist yet another community in need. Some of the members, like Adea, stayed to help Chrystelle run the Hospital while she was getting ready to find some staff at the Hospital in order to replace the Hospitallers that were leaving. Thus, a new Faction will be created to run the Hospital as well as achieving other goals that the Hospitallers where achieving prior to them leaving.
