Shortly after leaving Estalha, Nicoril Craft suggested to the party that they investigate the "Stoneskin" Goblin Tribe that supposedly lives a short travel north from the village. When they arrive, they find goblins guarding a cave, and upon entering they find a strange iron line along the ceiling that ends up connecting to a strange iron staff.
When Ronald takes the staff from its pedestal, suddenly there is a flash as a bolt of lightning streaks across the iron line upstairs, as well as into Ronald's body. After a short rest, Ronald finds himself to have strange powers as he can now summon small amounts of lightning from his body at the cost of his lifespan.
The party investigates up the stairs, to find a strange creature, surrounded by stone statues, experimenting on Aarakocra, turning them to stone. They quickly dispatch the creature. However, one of the statues turns out to be a gargoyle and drives the party out of the room until they are able to properly retaliate and take it down.
The party returns to the room, to find not much else of interest besides the body of an Aarakocra turned to iron on the table.
