Details

Near Old Square, at the top of a sheer cliff overlooking the lower falls of the Manuxet, rises Innsmouth’s mall, housed in the building where the Marsh family used to have its ancient gold refinery.

Although completely renovated, the structure still retains its late nineteenth-century look, with the original exposed bricks and large skylights in the roof for natural lighting. The ancient chimney, dwarfing even the bell towers of the local churches, holds the mall’s sign, easily accessible via a ladder for maintenance purposes.

Inside, however, it looks like the stereotypical mall. The entrances lead to the central area, where cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops open onto the imposing fountain, surrounded by relaxing plants in front of the escalator leading to the floor above.
