After the Nymphs city of Markt and the Liute city of Amlich both expanded to reach each other’s borders, it was deemed best to combine them into one and avoid conflict. It has since become one of the largest educational centers in the world, housing several universities and academies. Due to half of the city’s necromantic origins, a vast mass grave dominates the fields west of it. Runoff from the university’s necromancer studies has caused black sludge to seep into the ground and the amalgamated bones of the dead to coalesce into undead creatures dubbed ‘grave friends’. The phenomenon has been studied extensively and is considered one of the main inspirations for modern necromancy.
