Kai is the nocturnal homeland of the Modis. It is essentially one large mushroom colony. The buildings were all people once, and will be people in the future, if they are not already. It is both dead and rotting, and alive and flourishing. The layout of the city changes almost weekly, and the inhabitants don’t feel the need for maps. Many parts of it are toxic or actively crumbling, becoming completely unsafe for outsiders without proper protection. It is, however, a great place to purchase rare mushrooms, chemicals, or study entropy magic, even if there is no actual university there, which makes the process incredibly painful for those who lack determination.
