H'laarith was a powerful matron mother, feared for her deep connections to the spider queen, Lolth, and her mystics that were able to manipulate flesh seemingly at will on their opponents. H'laarith did not possess the largest standing army of the drow, because she didn't need to - her arcane powers were more than enough to keep her peers in submission.
Despite her iron fist rule, H'laarith allowed the houses under her watch to pursue their goals as they deemed fit, though she did demand obedience to the spider queen, and disliked the matrons that would allow empathy within their walls. Houses that ventured too far away from the cruel teachings of the church had a tendency to eventually disappear from the political scene.
In addition to her political insights, H'laarith took her title as a mother literal, seemingly always pregnant and never far from her consorts of beautiful drow males who served her without question.
