Goliaths in Stormhaven
Goliath society remained mostly untouched by the climate changes. With their homelands in the mountains, they were able to cope considerably well with the changes brought by the calamity. They were a proud people who kept mostly to themselves and their ancestral territories.
Goliaths saw signs and omens in the environment around them. Dramatic events, such as volcanoes erupting or flooding, were seen as warnings to the goliaths straying off their path.
To withstand the powers of the elements, of nature, and of enemies, were deeply rooted in the goliaths loathing to being useless. While the arts of combat were seen as a heroic pursuit, any type of work that would benefit the community as a whole were seen upon favorable.
Goliath religion
Goliaths were split into two distinct societies - the Runekeepers, who followed the teachings of the Lord of Frost, and the Stormborn, who followed the teachings of the Lady of Fire.
The Runekeepers mastered powerful spells that gave them an edge against their foes. They were a cold people that rarely allowed outsiders into their realms, and rarely ventured beyond their borders. As allies of the frost giants, they usually kept their cool and planned for the long term survival of their people.
The Stormborn were much more chaotic in nature, living each day like it was their last, often giving into bloodlust, desire and celebrations. They held the secrets of gunpowder, and used it to great effect against their enemies. They were allied with the fire giants, whom often ruled over them and resided alongside with them in their underground territories.
