Humans in Stormhaven

Humans have persevered through the ages as one of the most hardy and adaptable races of Auryn. While their holdings are nowhere near the powerful empires of old, they still hold power in some of the most powerful settlements and factions of the world. Humans of Stormhaven were pale, sturdy and often muscular, often with raven black hair and green or blue eyes.

Humans from the former imperial city of Stormhaven were a community oriented people, that huddled together in the cold and aided each other during hardships.

Humans were adaptable enough to form tribes in the wilderness who had no desire to waste away in city life. The most famous of these tribes were the Wyll, a mysterious people that followed the traditions of ages past, seen as vile and evil by many of the city-dwellers due to their focus on blood, sacrifice and drugs.

Human religion

Humans followed the teachings of the Path of Fire and Ice, tempering knowledge and wisdom with the warmth of celebrations and traditions to break the otherwise grim existence of a frozen world. Human religion beyond that of the Path of Fire and Ice were complicated and were not really understood by the other races of the realm.

Only a few centuries ago, the humans at large venerated a larger pantheon of gods, but like many things in human culture, such things were prone to frequent changes. Some people saw to humans and pitied them for their inability to truly connect with the spiritual world due to their short lifespan, and the frequent revolutions and change that their society, including their religions, saw.

Drive of ambition

Since many fields of magic, both arcane and spiritual, were time-consuming practices, humans often found it difficult to truly master these arts, although there were notable exceptions. It was believed that humans, along with halflings and a handful of other races, originated from Auryl, whereas other races were foreign to the world, despite having lived here for several millenia.
