The White Circle is a right-wing populist political party in Tennessee that was founded as a think tank by philanthropist Dew Kane Woods in 1847. The party first participated in elections in the 1848 general election, winning majority vote in the House of Representatives governing the state of Tennessee. In the 1852 provincial elections, it won the most votes out of any party.
At the time of its conception the White Circle was considered a small movement positioned on the right-wing of the political spectrum, but since the founding of the party it has been described as a largely followed movement adopting more radical policies and messages.
