Veronica was the childe of the previous Ventrue Primogen. Much like Desdemona, she was raised with the power and influence that comes with such a noteworthy sire. This status was pulled out from under her when it was revealed that Eliza Laurelton was working in a conspiracy against the court, and Veronica's own loyalties were called into question. Now with many years of experience but set back to the bottom of the totem pole, she is vengeful with hurt pride, and is eager to reclaim her glory.
