Merc gave the bow the name Xiiqda (Translates roughly into whispers) he was young when he gave the name to the bow. In his child days with the bow he had an idea the bow whispered secrets to him, things he didn't quite understand... As he's become an adult, the whispers have silenced out only to appear once in awhile and always with omens of the potential threat ahead of him.
The bow functions as if it's alive, it's built with thousands of tiny pieces of wood and metal, always in movement within itself.
