The Covenants of Anchorage

The Circle of the Crone

The Cult of Freya and Ymir

Background

The Circle of the Crone first came to the city in the 1930's under the leadership of The Crone in the Frost. An ancient Nosferatu that simply disappeared one night, no one knows if she is still around or if she met with Final Death. Rumor has it the former Prince of the city killed her in his purge in the early 2000's. Regardless the Circle of the Crone has been through a lot. People come and go but the circle has survived. Purges from various forces have tried to wipe them out but like a virus they just pop back up. The most recent group calls itself the Cult of Freya and Ymir and sees Anchorage as a sort of holy ground for them. They came here to rule and they have achieved that goal.

Roleplay Ideas

So you want to join the Circle of the Crone in Anchorage? Well there are plenty of ways to do so! A -large- portion of them follow the prince like the cult leader she is but some do their own thing here and there so long as they remember to pay tribute to the big woman on campus. Right now you're in charge, no one can shit talk your rituals, your faith, or the way you go about things. Blood flows and the Goddess welcome it with delight! Possible concepts range from the standard Blood Witch to Coven Guardians and even more mundane things like cleaners, fixers, and just people who work to keep the city running and the other covenants happy.

"I shed the Blood of a Holy Man. I saw my future in his entrails. I bled a virgin, let her blood gather in a bowl, and in that dark life giving liquid. I saw your end. Hel calls. I aim to ensure you answer her call." - Cassidy Monroe. Childer of the Morrigan. Shortly before she killed the Former Sheriff.

The Invictus

The Invictus

The Subtle Hand

Background

As long as there has been an Anchorage the First Estate has made a home there. They are the thread holding this city together, the stabilizing hand against the religious zealots that seem intent of fighting a war despite how futile it is. The Invictus saw the writing on the wall and switched sides when the time came, they further cemented their allegiance to the new prince by helping her get revenge for past Lancea Et sanctums purges. Rumors of First Estate sheltering old members of the Second Estate are...well you know how Rumors grow.

Roleplay Ideas

The Invictus are like the big brothers of the city. They care less about which Prince is in charge (though they prefer their own) but they care about upholding the Masquerade. They have helped to train members of the Circle in various techniques to just that. Concept ideas range from your standard vampiric businessman to well something more in line with upholding the masquerade. The Invictus are about power and they have found power in this new wild city. It's simply put...subtle.

"Money? You think I give two shits how much it's going to cost?! We cover it up! I don't care if you go bankrupt! I don't care if you have to sell your granny's fuckin finest silver! We. Cover. It. Up. We got deals and agreements far and wide and this is our job! And yeah, no one is going to thank us." Jasper Calway, Invictus Cleaner.

The Ordo Dracul

The Ordo Dracul

The Cutting Edge

Background

The Ordo Dracul are a pragmatic lot, they have important business to tend to and those that have made their way to Anchorage did so for peace and quiet. Sadly they found a religious war that's been brewing since the city was founded. What is it about Anchorage, a seemingly normal town, that pushed the two religious covenants to fuss and fight with each other? Well thats one mystery they hope to find out. They did throw their lot in with the winning side, but they never committed their full strength, only a few Sworn of the Axe came out to play. Now they're mostly quiet, content to watch, wait, and go about more important business

Roleplay Ideas

The Ordo Dracul is a science based Covenant that sees Vampirism as a stepping stone to something more. In Anchorage the dream was they would have plenty of time, space, and quiet to do their thing. However they find they find that's just not true. The Sworn of the Axe are beloved in this city, as well most don't like to do the dirty work they need to. The other two Sworn are equally beloved and represented, their is a lot of work to do, and this city is just...teaming with things to study.

"The Prince doesn't care. That's the thing with the Circle, bro. If you ain't strong enough to protect your own dang ghouls, the prince don't give two shits. Shit man, she barely cares if I murder another Kindred. Why? I don't know man. Regardless. Hand me the bonesaw, getting the skull open is my least favorite part." - Sammy "S-Dawg" Winston. Ordo Dracul "Scientist"

The Carthian Movement

The Carthian Movement

The Snake in the Grass

Background

When the city was founded the Carthian's didn't exist. It wasn't until the 1960's that there was a Carthian presence in the city. Small and generally seen as powerless the Elders and traditionalists were shocked and a little surprised at how fast they grew. The Prince at the time however was to busy with his crusade against the vile blood witches in his midst to pay them much mind. This was an issue. They grew, and grew, and grew. The Movement was almost poised to launch it's own rebellion, full of a desire to try a Democracy of the Undead, they were only stopped when the Circle jumped to it first. They saw the brutality of the Crone's, the sheer terror they brought to the battlefield and decided...they needed more time. The Bell of Liberty will toll soon...

Roleplay Ideas

The Carthian Movement is in two camps right now. Those following the Primogen and willing to bide their time and wait, they train, they get hard, and they are simply waiting for the green light. These Kindred believe in the Democracy of the Undead idea. Then there is the Theocrats, this weird version of the Carthians believe that they can work within the various cults that seem to spring up around the city. They are in the minority...but for how long? After all so far they enjoy a lot of freedom under the current Prince, why shake the boat? For a flawed system like Democracy?

"Hey, I get it Young Blood. You're full of fire and a desire to make a name for yourself. You gotta chill though. We aint got the numbers or the guns right now. Train. Watch'em. Bide your time. We got this." Raphael Jefferson, Carthian Drill Sgt.

The Architects of the Monolith

The Architects of the Monolith

The Mystery

Background

How long have they been in the city? It's hard to tell. If you believe their Primogen they were here from the beginning and have guided the city quietly for years. They haven't cared about Kindred Society as the City needed them. They have seen it grow and watched it prosper since the first stone was laid. Of course, that can't be true right? How can an entire covenant remain hidden for so long without -someone- knowing about them? Well rumor has it the former Prince found out about them and reacted in a hostile manner...but the Architects had a backup plan. Prince Scarlet. Is this true? Hard to say. What is true is that if Prince Scarlet wasn't in power, the Architects wouldn't be here, they rode her coat tails and were the driving factor in the mass execution of the surviving Lancea Et Sanctum, why? It's what the City wanted.

Roleplay Ideas

Have you ever wanted to see the connections? To be apart of something bigger? To help create a perfect world where everything has a place? Then the Architects are for you. They are in Anchorage to test their plans, they want to see what does and doesn't work and the Architects here seemingly came out of the wood work or traveled from far away. Only the Primogen knows what makes this city so special, and the Architects are keen to push it all in the right direction.

"The City wants it. That's all you need to know, Neonate. This building is an eye sore, it's in the way. We need to prune it. For the benefit of all. Lock the doors...throw the bottles through those windows. The Plan Demands it." - Sasha Kennedy Architect "Designer"
