The Ten Towns, also known as Ten-Towns, are a loose confederation of frontier villages found in Icewind Dale in the western Frozenfar. The communities of the Ten Towns attracted those people of Faerûn determined to find a life for themselves, and those desperate to leave their former lives behind.
While life within each community exemplifies diligence and partnership, relations between each of the communities demonstrate the fierce competitive spirit that is needed to survive in the North.
Ten-Towns:
- Bremen - westernmost town attracting gold prospectors, travelers and treasure hunters
- Bryn Shander - the heart and mercantile hub of Ten-Towns, and the first stop for most visitors
- Caer-Dineval - fishing village on the northwestern bank of Lac Dinneshere, featuring the only standing castle in Ten-Towns
- Caer-Konig - fishing village on the north end of Lac Dinneshere, featuring a ruined castle
- Dougan's Hole - smallest of the Ten Towns; a very insular community not fond of outsiders
- Easthaven - fishing village on the southern shore of Lac Dinneshere, with a sophisticated fishing fleet and a thievish heritage (watch your pocketbooks!)
- Good Mead - smaller town whose economy is based on brewing their famous mead
- Lonelywood - northernmost town, a quiet sanctuary for fishers, loggers, and scrimshanders, and a likely hideout for more shady characters
- Targos - the second-largest of the Ten Towns, with the biggest fishing fleet
- Termalaine - a charming village with striking natural beauty on the shore of Maer Dualdon
